· Check-in 2.30pm–8pm. Check-out by 10am.
· Quiet hours 10pm–7am. Your neighbours are behind a wall, not a corridor.
· No smoking or vaping anywhere inside. Fines apply.
· Only registered guests in rooms. Visitors stay in the shared areas.
· Shared kitchen: use it, clean it, leave it. Label your food.
· Damage or excessive cleaning is charged to the card on the booking.
· Abuse of other guests or our team ends your stay. No refund.

Questions

Is there really no reception?

Not at Ocean Hostel — this one is staffed. Someone meets you on arrival between 2.30pm and 8pm. If your train or your ship gets in later than that, tell us when you book and we will make arrangements.

Is there breakfast?

No, and you are not paying for one. There is a shared kitchen you can cook in, and the town centre is a few minutes' walk for anything else.

Are the rooms en-suite?

No. Every room is private and lockable, with a washbasin, and the bathrooms are shared. The self-contained apartments have their own kitchen and bathroom.

Is it cheaper to book direct?

Yes. Booking on oceanquaygreenock.com is cheaper than Booking.com, Airbnb or Expedia, because we are not paying commission on it.

Are rooms private?

Yes. Every KIP room is a private room with a lockable door. No dorms, no bunks, no strangers.

Can I stay for weeks at a time?

Yes. Contractors and key workers make up most of our Monday-to-Thursday guests. Weekly rates and VAT invoices are standard — see Work stays.

What do I need to check in?

A phone and a valid photo ID. You verify once, on your phone, from anywhere.
